The second meeting of the Media Security and Reliability Council will be Nov. 6. Dennis FitzSimons, President/COO of Tribune Company and MSRC Chairman, said FCC Chairman Michael Powell will participate. The group is a federal advisory committee formed in response to 9/11 to ensure reliability and security of the nation’s broadcast and multichannel video programming distribution industries. A similar group exists for the telephony industries.
The communications infrastructure security, access and restoration working group and the public communications and safety working group will provide updates to the council.
