MediaSpan Acquires First MediaWorks

Media companies MediaSpan Group Inc., and First MediaWorks have combined their radio Internet services businesses. First MediaWorks becomes a division of MediaSpan Group.
First MediaWorks sells Web site systems and marketing help to radio stations and claims 1,500 plants. CEO Chad Meisinger will take over as president of the new division.
“This is an important milestone in giving the radio industry a reliable launching pad for future Internet technology,” Meisinger said.
First MediaWorks clients include ABC Radio Networks, Infinity Radio, Entercom, Citadel, Cumulus, Saga Communications, Radio One and the Armed Forces Radio Networks. MediaSpan said the acquisition would increase its radio presence and complement its HarrisBaseview Division, which has 2,600 newspaper and print customers.
