Beasley Broadcast named Don Melnyk of its Philadelphia cluster as the Engineer of the Year at the annual gathering of Beasley brass.
“A temporary staff reduction this year from three engineers to one made it necessary for Don to also handle Beasley’s WJBR(FM) in Wilmington,” the company stated.
“While managing regular engineer duties for all stations, Don was intricately involved with planning an upgrade and continues to oversee rebuilding and construction of the Philadelphia facilities.”
Station of the Year honors went to WXKB(FM), Fort Myers-Naples, Fla. Bruce Simel picked up the General Manager of the Year award for his work at the Greenville-New Bern-Jacksonville, N.C. cluster. Program Director of the Year was Justin Chase of Las Vegas’ KKLZ(FM).
Philadelphia’s WXTU(FM) is the workplace of the General Sales Manager of the Year, Matt Smith. The Interactive Sales Manager of the Year, a new category, is A.J. Lurie. And Lisa Lewis, of the Greenville-New Bern-Jacksonville, N.C. cluster, is the 2011 Business Manager of the Year.
