The New York Mets are close to a deal with WOR(AM), New York.
That’s according to Newsday.
Clear Channel took over the 50,000 watter last fall and the paper says the team and the broadcaster are close to signing a deal that could bring the team back to the station for the 2014 season.
The Mets haven’t aired on WOR for 27 years.
The team’s games had been carried by WFAN(AM) since that station’s inception in 1987, but the Yankees will move from WCBS(AM) to WFAN next season after signing a contract last month with CBS Radio, which owns WFAN, according to the account.
