Ray Miklius has joined Harris Broadcast as director of product line management for television transmission.
The job is a departure for Miklius, who spent 20 years at Broadcast Electronics, most recently as a vice president, managing AudioVault and the new commotion.com, which integrates elements, including social media and apps, with radio.
He’s moving from Quincy, Ill., closer to Cincinnati and a larger metropolitan airport since his new job will involve lots of travel, both domestically and abroad. Miklius will work out of the Harris Mason, Ohio, office.
The move comes at a good time for Miklius, who tells Radio World he was looking for a change as his children leave college.
He reports to Rich Redmond, Harris Broadcast vice president of Transmission and Test and Measurement. Miklius’ equivalent on the radio side is Ted Lantz who is radio product manager for the broadcast equipment manufacturer.
Miklius says he’s seen new Harris Broadcast CEO Charlie Vogt who’s been visiting Harris offices and clients. “He brings energy and high expectations” to the job, says Miklius. “I think people appreciate that.”
Prior to BE, Miklius was at Tellabs working on high bandwidth telecom switches and pharmaceutical firm Baxter International before that. Reach Miklius at rmiklius@harris.com.
