Minority Advocacy Group Turns 20 But Says Barriers Remain

The Minority Media Telecommunications Council is 20 years old but says its goals aren’t much closer to being realized.
Executive Director David Honig says the group was conceived in December 1986 after the FCC “suspended two of its three minority broadcast ownership policies.” The MMTC formed soon after and pushed successfully to have those policies reinstated two years later, he recalled.
