Missouri Tower Collapse Kills Climber

Tower climber Sean Burroughs of Nationwide Towers was killed Tuesday afternoon while working on a tower near Centralia, Mo. The 400-foot tower supported KMFC(FM)'s antenna. It collapsed after the 29 year-old Burroughs climbed to roughly 120 feet. The collapse knocked the station off the air. OSHA is investigating the collapse, and the Boone County Sheriff's office ruled the death as accidental. The structure was approximately 16 years old.


Tower Worker Killed in Fall

Daniel Plants of Triadelphia, W.Va., fell to his death on Sept. 24 while working to dismantle a storm-damaged tower in East Deer Township, Pa., a suburb of Pittsburgh.
