The Mentoring & Inspiring Women in Radio Group has chosen the four candidates who will participate in the 2014 Mildred Carter MIW Group Mentoring Program. They are:
Elisabeth Logan, general sales manager, Radio One, Cleveland; Stacey Kauffman, local sales manager, Hubbard, Chicago; Noelia Santelli, national sales manager, Salem Communications, New York; Angela Hampton, on-air personality, Cromwell Radio Group, Effingham, Ill.
This mentoring program launched in 2002 to match women in the radio industry with other professionals who are leaders in broadcasting. To date, 27 mentees have graduated from the program, which honors the memory of Mildred Carter, who, along with her husband, Andrew “Skip” Carter, founded the first U.S. African-American-owned radio station, KPRS(FM) of Kansas City, Mo.
According to a release, the Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio group consists of top-level women who are dedicated to helping others develop management and leadership skills, as well as advocating the advancement of women to senior positions in broadcasting.
