Without any last-minute word from the FCC, Monday is the day on which most FM stations transmitting HD Radio signals can increase their power by 6 dB without first applying for an STA.
Those who want to go above that — to effect a full 10 dB increase — can apply.
As we noted last week, one petition for reconsideration has been filed. NPR opposed that and iBiquity has asked for more time, until May 25, to respond to any requests to review or overturn the power increase.
The FCC had not acted on any of the requests as of Thursday afternoon.
