The top Internet radio stations listeners listened longer last week than they did the previous week, according to MeasureCast Top 25 Weekly Ratings, released Tuesday.
The total time spent listening for the top 25 online stations in the company’s weekly ranking rose eight percent over the week of Jan. 15-21.
Evan Oster, MeasureCast vice president of research, said that 16 of the top 25 stations also enjoyed larger audiences than they did the week before.
Three ABC Radio stations made their debuts in this week’s Top 25 list: WXCD(FM), a classic rock station in Chicago; KSCS(FM), a country music station in Dallas/Ft. Worth and KZNZ(FM), an alternative rock station in Eden Prairie, Minn.
ABC Radio Network claimed 9 of the top 10 spots. Only the “listener formatted,” Internet-only station, MEDIAmazing, made it into this week’s top 10, in the No. 2 slot.
Peak listening time was noon PST, 3 p.m. EST, according to the report and Thursday continues to be the most popular day for Internet radio listening.
