More Radios Ahead

More than 20 radio manufacturing companies based in Asia are developing HD Radio products, Ibiquity said in making the receiver reference design announcement (above).
The list includes companies such as: Kiryung Electronics, RockRidge Sound Company Ltd., Orient Power, City Electronics, OPUS Art and Technology Co. Ltd., Sangean, Jazz Hipster, Wistron-NeWeb Corp. and Zylux Acoustic Corp.
“The interest in HD Radio technology has increased dramatically in the past few months as many Asian manufacturers are responding to requests-for-prototypes or quotes-for-manufacturing from their U.S.-based radio brand and retail partners. The release of our next generation reference design is timed to support this growing market for HD Radio products,” said Ibiquity COO Jeff Jury.
