Mr. Wizard has passed on.
Don Herbert, remembered by many adults from his TV persona and his popularization of science, died at age 89, according to the Washington Post, which also noted his early radio involvement.
“In Chicago, where Mr. Herbert acted on radio, he presented broadcasters with the idea that combined his interests in theatrical performance and in the hard facts of scientific truth,” it reported.
