MR-Pro Update Aids in 70/100V System Setup

Minirator MR-Pro now measures the impedance and phase of the connected load, and calculates the related power for 70 V or 100 V distributed loudspeaker systems.

NTI extended the functionality of its analog signal generator MR-Pro by introducing firmware V2.01.

Minirator MR-Pro now measures the impedance and phase of the connected load, and calculates the related power for 70 V or 100 V distributed loudspeaker systems.

The technician selects the applicable system reference voltage (e.g., 70 V or 100 V) and connects the speaker line terminals. The Minirator displays the nominal power and phase angle of the speaker line. The test level and frequency are adjustable according to requirements.

The measurement results show whether the selected section of the system is wired according to specifications, and detects incorrectly terminated or defective speakers. The company says these functions simplify commissioning of 70 or 100 V distributed loudspeaker systems.

Additionally, an enhanced cable test function and new test signals for amplifier and noise measurements widen the applications range of the MR-Pro.

XLR audio cables may be miswired in the soldering process or break during usage. The extended MR-Pro cable test function detects common XLR wiring faults with a description to the user, such as “2-3 Crossed” or “Pin 2 Open.” Instructions are then given for the repair of the cable.

Also, a set of 1/3 octave narrow band pink noise signals is available, as is a set of square wave signals for quick diagnosis of amplifier behavior.

The new MR-Pro firmware V2.01 is available for free download.
