July 1 is the deadline for stations to apply for the NAB HD Radio Multicast Award.
Almost 900 FM stations are now airing multicast channels, according to the latest figures from Ibiquity Digital.
Stations can submit 150-word nominations online. Applicants must be NAB members, so not all current multicasters can apply.
The award recognizes a station’s “unique, innovative or groundbreaking programming on a multicast channel.” This is the second year the award will have been given. Last year’s winners were KBCO’s “The Studio C Channel” in Denver and WRIF’s “Riff2” in Detroit.
