MXL Model Is USB Microphone

MXL Microphones said the MXL.006 USB/Cardioid Condenser Microphone is shipping.
The model features a large gold diaphragm that the company says produces a big, rich sound characteristic of studio and broadcast microphones.
This is a Universal Serial Bus device that connects to a computer without the need for external mic preamps. “Anyone requiring high-quality, professional sound on their computer can record music or dialog by simply connecting to a standard USB port,” the manufacturer stated.
Features include gain adjustment settings via a three-position attenuation switch.
The manufacturer sees the model as suitable for podcasting or adding dialog to presentations and other multimedia projects as well as for radio and news broadcasters and for location recording. It retails for $169.95.
