NA2R Looks to Boost New Music

The Australian radio industry has extended the deadline for its New Artist to Radio Showcase (NA2R) until 27 July.

The Australian radio industry has extended the deadline for its New Artists to Radio Showcase (NA2R) until 27 July. The showcase, now in its fifth year, is designed to give unsigned Australian artists airplay and national exposure.

Three winners will be selected to perform at the NA2R event at Crown Live in Melbourne, Victoria, in October. They will also share in AU$150,000 of advertising airtime on four major networks along the east coast of Australia, and may be added to the playlists of one or more of the major national radio networks.

According to NA2R sponsors, the radio industry wants to hear from artists and bands who have at least two songs ready to be played on commercial radio but who have not yet been signed by a record label.

This year, winners will be announced for three genres: adult contemporary, pop, and rock.
