NAB, BEA to Honor Jerry Lee With Beville Award

NAB, BEA to Honor Jerry Lee With Beville Award

Jerry Lee – an iconic figure to some in radio, thanks in part to his success as owner of a standalone station in a major market – will be honored for his work in audience research; the NAB and the Broadcast Education Association will present him with the 2006 Hugh Malcolm Beville, Jr. Award.
Lee is owner and president of WBEB(FM) in Philadelphia. He will receive the award at the BEA Annual Convention Welcome Reception on April 26 at the Las Vegas Hilton.
The Award is named for broadcast research pioneer Mal Beville and honors contributions to the field of broadcast audience research.
Lee is regarded as a proponent of the use of quality research and was recently confirmed by the U.S. Senate to a term on the National Board for Educational Sciences.
