NAB accepted a special award from RADD – Recording Artists, Actors and Athletes Against Drunk Driving – for its efforts to combat driving under the influence of alcohol, at the Breakfast with Charlie Cook during the NAB Radio Show in San Diego. NAB’s partnership with RADD is part of its STAR Campaign (Stations Target Alcohol Abuse Reduction), providing more than 80 PSAs to broadcasters across the country.
A CD featuring the latest “Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk” radio PSAs was launched at the show, as part of an ongoing partnership among NAB, RADD, Ad Council and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
“Thanks to the public service commitment of broadcasters, RADD’s lifesaving designated driver messages play virtually around the clock to reach young adults where they live, work and play,” said RAD President Erin Meluso.
