Marcellus Alexander has been named president of the NAB Education Foundation. He will remain in his post as executive vice president of television at the NAB. He is the former vice president and general manager of KYW(TV) in Philadelphia and WJZ(TV) in Baltimore.
As of April 1, he replaces Chuck Sherman, who is retiring.
NABEF activities include the annual “Service to America” Summit in Washington, honoring public service contributions from local radio and television stations.
“Chuck Sherman has established a strong legacy, particularly with respect to programs that serve women and people of color. Similarly, Dwight Ellis, vice president of Human Resources Development, has created an equally solid foundation of programs that address broadcasters’ career needs. It makes perfect sense to coordinate the efforts of both these offices to better serve our members and constituencies.”
