NAB Honors Rep. Dingell

U.S. Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., will be honored at NAB2002 as this year’s recipient of the Grover Cobb Award.
Rep. Dingell is currently the dean of the House of Representatives, having first taken the oath of office in 1955. He served as chairman of the House Commerce Committee from 1981 until 1995, and currently serves as the committee’s Ranking Democratic Member. Dingell will accept the award at the NAB2002 Broadcast Leadership Dinner April 7 in Las Vegas.
The award is named for Grover Cobb, who served as NAB’s senior executive vice president for government relations during the 1970s. It recognizes a broadcaster or public official who demonstrates unusual dedication to improving broadcasting’s relationship with the federal government.
