NAB seems tickled that so many radio groups have committed to HD Radio.
John Orlando, SVP of external relations, told Radio World at CES the commitment shows that the radio industry is moving forward.
NAB has helped TV promote its digital transition, and it may do the same for radio.
Orlando’s previous job was as a lobbyist for CBS. He remembers walking the halls of the FCC in ’98 when he and Ibiquity’s Struble delivered the company’s initial petition for rule making for IBOC.
Orlando is also the acting head of the NAB government relations division in the wake of Jim May’s departure.
