Fortune Magazine’s yearly rankings of the most powerful lobbying groups in Washington is out. NAB is ranked No. 17, close to where it was last year in the top 25.
The NRA tops the list this year, bumping previous No. 1 AARP to the second slot. Fortune gives the NRA the top spot because it has 4.3 million members, up by 1 million since last year; its budget is also up, to $200 million last year.
The RIAA moved up from 40 to 22, for beating back Napster. The survey was conducted by mail in March.
