NAB Urges Members to Promote Their Political Time

The NAB says it wants to hear from stations about the free air time they have been offering political candidates.
“Some in Congress continue to claim that broadcasters fail to offer significant free air time to candidates, and these lawmakers are more determined than ever to try to put mandates on stations for such time as part of their public interest obligations,” the association states on its Web site.
“Help NAB compile the true record of radio debates, interviews and forums.” The site urges stations to enter information into its “Debate Tracker.”
“It’s your good record,” NAB states. “Take credit for it.”
