When it opens its gates, NAB2007 will welcome a record number of international delegations to Las Vegas.

The organizers expect a total of 82 international delegations — organized by U.S. embassies, consulates or specialized tour operators — up from 72 in 2006.

Many of the delegations attend the event through NAB partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce and its International Buyer Program (IBP).

“While the international attendance at most conventions in North America ranges between 5 [percent] and 10 percent, over a quarter of NAB2007’s attendance will be made up of international participants,” said NAB Executive Vice President of Conventions and Business Operations Chris Brown.

NAB2007 will host more than 470 international exhibitors, a number of whom are participating though international pavilions. These include the Bavarian Pavilion, Belgian Pavilion, China Pavilion, France-Bretagne International Pavilion, Korean DMB Pavilion, and the UK@NAB Pavilion.

NAB2007 runs 14–19 April in Las Vegas, Nevada, with the exhibition starting on 16 April.
