The latest Ares-M Series flash-based recorder from Nagra, the Ares-M II, comes with 1 GB of storage and will record linear WAV, MP2 or MP3 audio files.
Two AA (LR06) batteries supply the unit for about 10 hours of record time. Editing functions are included.
The Ares-M II will be out in the third quarter of this year, will have 2 GB of storage, too.
It comes with an internal mono microphone and external stereo mic. A mono XLR to Nagra cable is provided to allow the use of standard mono microphones. An optional stereo cable with two XLRs is available. The ARES-M II uses a USB 2.0 connection for downloading audio to an external computer for editing or transmission.
