Nahil Returns to GatesAir, Formerly Harris

Responsible for business development for Intraplex products in the Americas

Ted Nahil will join GatesAir, Radio World has learned, returning to a company that was named Harris when he last worked there.

Nahil will be business development manager for Intraplex products, Americas; he’ll report to Mark Goins, director of transmission sales, Americas.

In addition to an earlier tenure at Harris, Nahil has been a DOE with Salem Communications, Shamrock Broadcasting and Greater Media, and he worked in business development for manufacturer ERI.

GatesAir’s announcement, confirmed by RW, will note that Nahil’s return coincides with “a time of dynamic, transformational change in the industry, as the number of broadcasters transitioning to IP transport quickly accelerates.” It said he’ll work to position the company for leadership in “IP, RF and T1/E1 transport solutions across the broadcast industry, including television,” as well as in the public safety sector.

The Harris Broadcast business, sold last year by Harris Corp., this week announced a further separation into two related companies named GatesAir and Imagine Communications. Chief Product Officer Rich Redmond told Radio World subsequently that the company is in hiring mode, seeking people with international sales and service experience.
