Nancy Abramson Joins Clear Channel

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment has added Nancy Abramson in the new role of director of digital affiliates for National Media Groups.

Abramson, who comes to the company from The Wall Street Journal Radio Network, will be based in New York and report to Julie Talbott, president of content and affiliate services for National Media Groups, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment.

In this position, she will focus on the company’s digital partnerships with radio ownership groups and stations. Abramson will provide a dedicated point of contact for communication and conducting business surrounding the company’s digital platforms including iHeartRadio and Clear Channel’s Premiere Networks programming, personality websites and audio streams. This position will share information regarding digital updates and tools, multiplatform promotions, research data and more and will assist in leveraging the opportunities across iHeartRadio and Premiere Networks, a release explained. In addition, she will be responsible for expanding Premiere’s network of radio station groups and affiliates.

Abramson has multiplatform experience in affiliate sales, marketing, talent management, as well as brand and partnership development, according to a release. In her most recent role as executive director of The Wall Street Journal Radio Network, she was charged with overseeing affiliate sales and marketing for WSJ and Marketwatch.com content to more than 700 radio partners across the U.S.

She was also responsible for leveraging the Dow Jones brands in traditional and digital audio platforms, in addition to program and business development, a release said. During her 17 years with the company, Abramson also served as director of affiliate relations and radio marketing manager. Prior to that, Abramson held the role of manager network programming for ABC Radio Networks, where she worked on program development and affiliate sales.

Abramson’s career in radio includes program director duties at WBRU(FM) in Providence, R.I., and hosting a daily show at WLIR(FM) in Garden City, N.Y.
