NASH Explores Long-Form Films

Country format brand has big ambitions

Extending its NASH brand to another medium, Cumulus Media has launched NASH TV Films.

The project aims to produce and distribute long-form films; its first effort is a one-hour documentary “Walk Tall: The Journey of Sugarland’s Kristian Bush.” It will air in early September in 80 markets, “through the established platforms of Sinclair Broadcast Group, the largest television broadcaster in the country, and other broadcasters,” according to a Cumulus announcement.

The NASH entertainment brand started in 2013 and now includes radio stations, a magazine, concerts and events, online content and television programming.

Credited as the film’s executive producers are Cumulus Executive Vice President of Content and Programming John Dickey and Director of Video Content, Strategy & Production Stokes Nielson, who directed the film. A trailer has been posted.

Sinclair Television Group Co-Chief Operating Officer Steve Pruett was quoted calling this his company’s “first national television special in the country music entertainment genre.”
