National radio ad sales jumped 16% in June compared to the same month last year. However, local ad sales, which are the largest part of the industry’s revenue, were flat, producing an overall 4% increase figure for the month.
RAB said the radio industry “is getting a glimpse of the recovery that is anticipated for the second half.”
For the entire second quarter, local sales were flat, national was up 7%, for an overall increase of 2% in revenue compared to last year’s Q2. Year to date, overall sales are up 3%.
