Northeastern Communications Concepts said it has participated in a major renovation project at the Manhattan studios of InTouch Networks Inc., a subsidiary of The Jewish Guild for the Blind, which considers itself the country’s largest radio reading service for the blind, visually impaired and handicapped.
NCC participated in the design and layout of the new studio, which includes upgraded HVAC and electrical systems. Five existing Acoustic Systems pre-engineered broadcast booths were located around a new console, creating a new control room. Farrar Contracting and Acoustical and Tackable Surfaces Inc. also were involved in the project.
ITN’s service reaches approximately 80 affiliate stations plus listeners in the New York area using specialized receivers. Its programs are on the Internet at www.intouchnetworks.org.
