Netia Initiates SNRC Digitization

The Sudan National Radio Corp. has chosen chose Netia for the gradual digitization of its main facility in Omdurman.
The SNRC decided to upgrade to digital in stages, starting with 18 workstations, so that all its audio broadcast personnel can familiarize themselves gradually with the system. Eventually, all SNRC studios will undergo full digitization, linking to the digital network in the near future.
The system works around twin mirrored servers that can each store up to 1,000 hours of audio. The workstations are equipped with a Radio-Assist system, including a range of available modules.
Broadcasting is handled by the Odyssey program, which includes the Air-DDO module equipped with four on-air outputs and PFL playback available simultaneously for multiple broadcasting.
Schedulers use workstations running an English-Arabic version of Radio-Assist. For more information, visit www.netia.net
