Netia Radio-Assist Goes Live in India

AIR uses software at New Delhi headquarters, 48 stations

All India Radio, the national radio broadcaster of India and a division of Prasar Bharati group, says its Netia Radio-Assist digital audio software suite is now live on more than 1,300 workstations, supporting its national broadcast facility and 48 local stations across India.

Delhi-based systems integrator Progressive Infotech coordinated the installation, and Netia provided training and support, as well as on-the-ground assistance in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.

“The work performed by Progressive Infotech and Netia ensured that the Radio-Assist deployment met the demanding requirements of geographically distributed operations, as well as the challenges of providing content that engages AIR listeners across a large and diverse audience,” said Gulshan Kharbanda, chief technology officer at Progressive Infotech.

At AIR headquarters in New Delhi, the Netia Radio-Assist deployment streamlines the broadcaster production and customization of services to address the language and culture of each listening area, says Netia.

Radio-Assist covers each part of the production and broadcast workflow, and due to its Unicode compatibility, the software makes it easier for AIR to broadcast programming in different languages and dialects, the company adds.
