New EAS System to Be Unveiled at Pennsylvania Engineering Event

Pennsylvania’s new satellite-distributed EAS system will be unveiled at an engineering event coming up next month. The Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters holds its 17th Annual Engineering Conference on Thursday, Nov. 14 at Hershey Lodge and Convention Center. The cost is $50 including lunch; if you register by Oct. 25, it’s $25. The event attracts radio and TV engineers from around the northeast. Approximately 120 attended last year.
This year’s event includes a demonstration of HD Radio, and a technical forum including Project Amber; AC power conditioning; noise-free radio; the status of DTV; precision RF measurements; FCC compliance sweeps; and Absolute Time Reference for radio and TV facilities. Radio-related exhibitors include Andrew, Bradley, BE, Comrex, Dielectric, Energy-Onix, Harris, Lightner, QEI, Radio Systems and S.C.M.S. Info: www.pab.org or call (717) 482-4820.
