Heather Birks is the new executive director of the Broadcast Education Association. She replaces Louisa Nielsen, who stepped down a few months ago.
Birks comes to BEA from NAB, where she worked for more than a decade, starting as special events manager for the Government Relations Department. She became the membership manager for NAB Television, and transitioned into special projects manager where her duties changed to include NAB convention sessions and VIP handling, Web site management and a management development seminar for TV executives.
Birks has been a consultant to the NAB Education Foundation for two years and recently served as program director for BEA.
