The nation’s 6th LPFM station is on the air, sort of. WRYR(LP) in Anne Arundel County, Md. signed on this weekend at 97.5 MHz but plans to remain mostly silent for the next few weeks to give volunteers time to test the equipment. The station, near the Chesapeake Bay, is run by an environmental group, the South Arundel Citizens for Responsible Development with start-up help from the Prometheus Radio Project.
