New Omnia Processors at NAB

Omnia.9 and Omnia.11 add siblings

Omnia Audio is bringing to Las Vegas two spinoffs of established processors, the Omnia.9, top, and Omnia.11.

The Omnia.9 FM+HD is similar to the Omnia.9 FM+3HD but is aimed at “those who wish to only process and stream one program source for analog and HD.” According to an Omnia release the Omnia.9 FM+HD retains “all of the features of the original such as ‘undo’ distortion management, composite embedder and streaming/encoding capability.”

The Omnia.11 FM is identical to the Omnia.11 FMHD in every way except that it does not include an HD/DRM stage. Omnia says also that both new models are upgradable to more powerful “full versions.”

Also both offer Single Sideband Suppressed Carrier FM transmission technology. SSBSC technology is of interest to Omnia and Omnia’s Frank Foti will be delivering a paper on it at the show.
