New Redboxes from Sonifex

Four-Channel mixer to debut at IBC show

Sonifex’s venerable Redbox line of utility boxes has a couple of new members, making their debuts at the upcoming IBC show in Amsterdam, Sept. 10–15.

For the radio audience the more relevant of the two is the RB-DMX4 mixer/router.

The RB-DMX4 is a four-channel digital mixer capable of operating as 4 × 4 or 2 stereo × 2 stereo. Inputs can arrive in AES/EBU, S/PDIF or TOSlink formats. A sample rate converter can output 32 kHz – 192 kHz. A word clock input is included. The front panel offers signal present LEDs and a headphone with a volume control.

A four-channel audio de-embedder for video use, the RB-DD4, is the other new Redbox.
