New XM Ads Target Gridlocked Drivers

The national campaign includes TV, online advertising and billboard placements in high-traffic locations.

XM Satellite Radio began a new flight of ads in more than 30 markets this week, aimed at drivers stuck in traffic.

The national campaign includes TV, online advertising and billboard placements in high-traffic locations. In the ads, the satcaster reminds drivers they can “get there faster” using XM NavTraffic. The campaign aims to reach consumers when traffic hassles are top-of-mind, while tuned into local TV or online traffic reports.

XM’s OEM partners Nissan, Infiniti and Lexus have also highlighted NavTraffic in recent TV ads promoting specific vehicles.

The service provides info about accidents and incidents as well as the ability to route drivers around trouble spots as displayed on a vehicle’s nav system screen. XM said its auto partners are expanding the availability into 40 or so vehicles in the 2009 model year.
