Newcap Radio Chooses WideOrbit

Integrated traffic, sales, automation solutions chosen after three-years of vetting

Canadian broadcaster Newcap Radio has selected WideOrbit’s WO Traffic, WO Media Sales and WO Automation for Radio software packages for its markets in the Atlantic division.

The provider of integrated suite of advertising traffic, sales management and automation solutions was chosen to streamline operations, reduce costs, make better decisions at the station level and across markets, according to a release.

Newcap Radio is Canada’s second largest radio licensee with 86 licenses across Canada. WO Traffic and WO Media Sales will be installed in 27 stations in16 Canadian markets and will standardize their automation system on WO Automation for Radio.

“After an exhaustive review of competitive automation systems, our programming, engineering and IT committee unanimously selected WideOrbit,” said Newcap Radio Vice President Operations Atlantic Canada at Ronald M. Ryan. He added, “WideOrbit was chosen for its functionality and price competitiveness,” but Ryan pointed to the WO tech support and development teams as very important in his decision.

WideOrbit’s integrated suite of solutions was selected after a three-year process that included speaking with radio station heads across the country. Customer satisfaction was a deciding factor, in addition to a product offering that included an integrated traffic and sales solution, and the ability to manage Newcap’s properties on a single platform.

“The addition of WO Media Sales will make Newcap Radio even more responsive and competitive in a changing media landscape,” said Ryan.
