Nick Clooney to Emcee VOA Museum Broadcast Gala

Sept. 23 event for fundraising

Journalist Nick Clooney will emcee the upcoming Celebrate the Voice of America Under the Stars gala on Sept. 23 at the National Voice of America Museum in West Chester, Ohio.

The Voice of America is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.

The fundraising event will have a big band theme with musical entertainment provided by museum favorite, Carmon DeLeone and the New Studio Big Band.

Jack Dominic, museum director, said, “We’re thrilled that Nick will be a part of the museum fundraising festivities. … Nick is a voracious reader and writer, a student of history, and possesses a wealth of knowledge about the role broadcasting has taken in shaping our democratic way of life. The Voice of America is one of these iconic broadcast services.”

Clooney is the father of actor George Clooney.

The event will be recorded and later broadcast on WXVU(FM), Cincinnati.
