Nielsen has certified WideOrbit’s Clarity digital distribution platform for measurement of digital audiences. Clarity is a platform for online radio streaming by terrestrial broadcasters, pure play broadcasters and podcasters. Besides streaming, it provides for ad insertion and royalty reporting.
WideOrbit says the arrangement makes Clarity the first certified digital streaming platform to embed Nielsen audience measurement so broadcasters and networks can monetize their digital streams and on-demand content, like podcasts based on Nielsen ratings.
WideOrbit VP Streaming Rob Green says the change means broadcasters can now offer audience measurement that is definitive, comparable across delivery methods and used to drive sales.
Clarity creator Abacast was acquired by WideOrbit last June.
