Northwestern College Enters Des Moines Market

Northwestern College & Radio said it closed on the purchase of two stations in the Des Moines market, KJJC(FM) at 107.1 in Osceola and KLRX(FM) at 96.1 in Madrid. It plans to apply for a change in call letters.
A tower in Osceola is under construction to replace a deteriorating one. The project includes a new antenna and transmitter.
“With an audience potential of half a million people, the outreach potential of the Des Moines stations is significant,” stated Dr. Alan Cureton, president of Northwestern College & Radio. The college said it has been looking for opportunities in that market for 20 years.
Paul Perrault becomes program director and morning drive host. The interim station manager is Doug Smith. Northwestern runs a 13-station network of noncommercial Christian stations in Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Florida.
