NPR Names Permanent Morning Edition Hosts

Renee Montagne and Steve Inskeep, who have been co-hosting NPR’s Morning Edition on an interim basis since the departure of Bob Edwards in May, have been named permanent hosts.
Inskeep hosts from Washington while Montagne will be based at NPR West, near Las Angeles.
“Two hosts have more time to report important stories, to prepare for interviews, and to travel to see the news firsthand,” states NPR News executives in the announcement.
Jay Kernis, NPR’s senior vice president for programming, states that listeners have noticed subtle changes in the show and responded “enthusiastically” to the new hosts.
