NPR is in an expanded partnership with National Geographic.
The goal is to explore how people and climate affect each other; the main component is a year-long news series called “Climate Connections” that involves all NPR News programs, NPR.org and National Geographic’s outlets including its magazine and Web site.
Each month “Climate Connections” will focus on an international region and themes to “explain how what happens in distant places is directly connected with life in the United States.” The participants called this the first media project of such scale to look specifically at the relationship between human behavior and climate. NPR coverage will be directed by its News Science Desk.
