The National Religious Broadcasters promoted NRB Chairman Wayne Pederson to the post of president and chief operating officer. His appointment comes after the death of Dr. E. Brandt Gustavson, who died of cancer in May.
Pederson is the executive vice president at Northwestern Radio in St. Paul, Minn. He will begin part-time work with the NRB beginning Oct. 1 and will relocate to Manassas, Va. to begin full-time work by Jan. 1.
Pederson, 54, has spent his entire career in Christian broadcasting, starting as an announcer at KTIS-AM-FM in 1967 while attending the University of Minnesota. He was elected to a three-year term as NRB Chairman in February 2000.
First Vice Chairman Glenn Plummer will fill the position Pederson vacates until a new election is held during NRB’s annual convention in February 2002. Plummer is the president of the Christian Television Network near Detroit and has served on the NRB Executive Committee.
