N.Y. Broadcasters to Recognize Policeman's Amber Efforts

New York State Police Senior Investigator John Brooks, an 18-year veteran of the organization, will receive an award from the New York State Broadcasters Association for his efforts in promoting acceptance of the Amber Alert Program.
“Sr. Investigator Brooks has helped New York become one of the first states to tackle the interstate Amber Alert issue. He brought law enforcement agencies and broadcasters together from throughout the Northeast and got them to work collectively to protect our children, and prevent tragedies from occurring,” stated NYSBA senior VP of Station/Client Services Richard Novik.
To date, 400 radio and TV stations in the state are cooperating with the Amber system.
