The awards company New York Festivals, which runs the NYF Radio Broadcasting competition, recently named Leslie Rasimas to the post of competitions director.
Rasimas was NYF international development manager for a few months and before that the international representative manager for the Clio Awards.
The 2008 competition closes 17 March. Winners will be honored in June at a Manhattan ceremony.
Organization officials said the move is aimed at providing more energy and fresh ideas into the competition. Entry and judging procedures have been upgraded; more work will be judged online, allowing the international jury to rate the work more easily and limit undue influence from other jury members. Work may be uploaded through the competition’s FTP site. Also a new student category has been added.
