Nyren Named Cumulus Chicago VP/Market Manager

Duffy also adds PD role for NE Pennsylvania

Cumulus Media has appointed Marv Nyren as vice president/market manager for its four-station Chicago cluster. Also, the company named Mike Duffy as program director for WBSX(FM) in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa.

Nyren, a native of Chicago, joins Cumulus Media from Chicago Public Media, where he was vice president of corporate sponsorships for WBEZ(FM). He was previously president/regional vice president for iHeartMedia’s 13 radio stations in Jacksonville, Fla., and Brunswick, Ga., and Nyren also has served as regional VP/market manager for Emmis Media for 13 years, managing stations in Chicago, Phoenix and Indianapolis.

Cumulus Media Chicago consists of WKQX(FM), WLS(AM/FM) and WLUP(FM).

Mike Duffy

Mike Duffy has more than 20 years’ radio experience in northeastern Pennsylvania and joined Cumulus in April as the midday on-air host for WBSX(FM). In addition to his new role as PD, Duffy will retain his on-air hosting duties.
