Charles Osgood, known for his “The Osgood File” TV and radio stories recently celebrated his 80th birthday.
Osgood’s radio program syndicator, Dial Global, presented the new octogenarian with a commemorative plaque.
The plaque features a semi-serious quote from Osgood’s father, Charles Osgood Wood II (Osgood’s full name is Charles Osgood Wood III). It reads:
Early to bed,
Early to rise.
Work like a dog and advertise.
“The Osgood File” started on CBS Radio in 1971. Osgood also hosts CBS TV’s “CBS News Sunday Morning.” In addition he has anchored several CBS news programs.
