OMT Snags Music Choice Job

OMT Technologies said cable music provider Music Choice went live this month with a custom multi-channel digital audio broadcast system it designed.
Music Choice distributes music channels, shows and concerts to through digital cable, satellite television, and the Internet. The new system uses OMT’s iMediaTouch broadcast automation software and Dolby AC/3 audio technology. The music library, converted from CD to AC3 Dolby Digital, was accomplished by using OMT’s iMediaExpress Encoder software, the supplier said. Music Choice also uses OMT’s WAN software iMediaAccess.
Music Choice is a partnership among subsidiaries of Microsoft, Motorola, Sony, Warner Music, EMI Music and several cable companies. It says its music channels reach 31 million households.
